About Asus
Asus (stylised as ASUSTeK) is a Taiwanese multinational technology company founded in 1989 by four former Acer engineers: Tzu-Hsien Tung, Ted Hsu, Wayne Hsieh, and M.T. Liao. What began as a conversation in a Taipei coffee shop has grown into one of the worlds most respected technology brands, now headquartered in Beitou District, Taipei. The company made its name by solving a motherboard problem that even Intel could not fix. When Asus engineers created a working prototype for the Intel 486 processor without access to the actual chip, Intel was so impressed they began a partnership that helped establish Taiwan as a global hub for quality IT products. Today, Asus is the worlds number one motherboard and gaming brand, and the fifth-largest PC vendor globally by unit sales. Their product range spans laptops, desktops, monitors, graphics cards, networking equipment, and gaming peripherals. The Republic of Gamers (ROG) sub-brand, launched with a dedicated committee, has become synonymous with premium gaming hardware. With over 11,000 employees worldwide and more than 35 years of innovation, Asus continues to push technological boundaries. UK customers can find Asus products at major retailers including Currys, Argos, Amazon UK, and specialist computer stores.
