About Cofresh
Cofresh is the UK's number one Indian snack brand, commanding 39% market share in the South Asian snacks category. The Leicester-based company was founded in 1974 by Dinesh and Savita Patel, who had emigrated from Kenya and invested their life savings in a local fish and chip shop. Their handmade spicy peanuts and green peas, cooked in the shop's fryers and packed by hand, became the foundation of what is now a multi-million pound business. From those humble beginnings, Cofresh has grown to offer a portfolio of around 200 traditional Indian snacks. The range includes beloved favourites like Bombay Mix, Chilli Lemon Potato Puffs, Sev Mamra, samosas, bhajis, and countless other authentic South Asian flavours. The company now exports to 62 countries and employs 220 people. Cofresh products cater to diverse dietary requirements, with many options that are gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan, and suitable for Kosher and Halal diets. This inclusivity has helped the brand appeal to the mainstream market beyond the South Asian community. In 2020, Cofresh was acquired by Vibrant Foods, which also owns TRS Foods and East End Foods. Cofresh Snack Foods also owns the Eat Real brand, the UK's number one free-from snacking brand, produced at their dedicated 180,000 sq ft facility in Nuneaton.
