About Eaten Alive
Eaten Alive is a London-based fermented food company founded in 2016 by chefs Glyn Gordon and Pat Bingley. With over 20 years of combined experience in some of the UK's finest restaurants including L'Enclume, Fera at Claridge's, and The Ledbury, these culinary professionals brought their expertise to the world of fermentation. The pair met at Disco Bistro pop-up in Central London in 2013 and bonded over their shared passion for food and fermentation. Eaten Alive began when they were asked to develop a vegan kimchi recipe for a restaurant—sparking a business that has since won multiple awards for its exceptional fermented products. All Eaten Alive products are 100% natural and vegan, handmade in their London facility. Their fermented hot sauces undergo maturation for up to six months, developing complex, award-winning flavours that set them apart from conventional hot sauces. The range includes Scotch Bonnet and Smoked Sriracha varieties alongside their signature Raw Kimchi hot sauce. The Raw Kimchi hot sauce exemplifies their fusion approach—house-made kimchi combined with brined chillies, peppers, and gochugaru (traditional Korean dried chilli), representing the perfect blend of their two culinary passions.
