About Fingerlings
Fingerlings is an innovative interactive toy line created by WowWee, the robotics company known for creating engaging robotic toys for children. First released in the UK and Canada in spring 2017, Fingerlings quickly became a global phenomenon, claiming the title of #1 toy for Christmas 2017 and creating unprecedented demand that even spawned "Grinch bots" that bulk-purchased stock for resale. The original Fingerlings were designed to resemble the pygmy marmoset, an adorable tiny primate. The robotic toys feature hands that grip your finger, a curly hanging tail, realistic monkey sounds, adorable blinking eyes, and responsive head turns. What makes Fingerlings special is their interactivity—built-in microphones and motion sensors allow them to react differently depending on how they are touched, spoken to, or moved. Fingerlings are capable of over 40 different sounds and reactions, including singing, blinking, burping, and farting—the kind of silly behaviour that delights children. They respond to touch on their heads, react to being held upside down, and can detect clapping and loud sounds. When left alone for 5 minutes, they enter sleep mode until reactivated. Since the original monkey launch, the Fingerlings line has expanded to include many other creatures including dinosaurs, dragons, unicorns, sloths, pandas, and axolotls. The Magic Moods series adds colour-changing features, while various limited editions and collaborations keep the range fresh. Available at UK retailers including Asda, Fingerlings continue to offer affordable, interactive play that encourages imagination and nurturing behaviour in children.
