About Granoro
Granoro is an authentic Italian pasta brand from Puglia, continuing a family tradition of pasta-making that stretches back over a century. The brand was established in 1967 by Attilio Mastromauro in Corato, Puglia—a region renowned since Roman times for producing Italy's finest durum wheat. The Mastromauro family's pasta heritage began in 1900 when Leonardo Mastromauro, Attilio's father, started a proto-industrial pasta production plant powered by a donkey. After emigrating to America in 1919 and returning to Italy in 1925, the family built their dream pasta factory in Puglia, introducing internal combustion engines to modernise production in 1929. Attilio dedicated his entire life to pasta, passing away in 2015 at the remarkable age of 102—the last industrialist in the sector to have witnessed the entire evolution from sun-drying to modern electronically controlled production. Today, the company is led by Marina and Daniela Mastromauro, continuing the female leadership that has been decisive throughout Granoro's history. The brand's "Dedicato" project represents their commitment to sustainability and traceability, creating a certified 100% Puglia supply chain that traces every pack from field to table. From daily production of 15,000 kg at founding to 350,000 kg today, Granoro produces over 150 pasta varieties alongside sauces, ready meals, rice, legumes, and extra-virgin olive oil—all celebrating Puglia's agricultural heritage.
