About Grind
Grind is a breakthrough London coffee brand founded in 2011 when David Abrahamovitch and Kaz James transformed a Shoreditch mobile phone store into what became an East London institution. The original Shoreditch Grind operated as "café by day, cocktail bar by night," establishing the brand's distinctive positioning. Over the past decade, Grind has grown into the UK's leading coffee challenger brand with fourteen locations across London, expanding to Manchester in 2025 with their first venue outside the capital. The brand serves as global coffee supplier to Soho House and partners with premium brands including Oatly and Brewdog. In 2025, Grind opened its first standalone travel café at Waterloo Station. The retail range includes whole bean coffee, ground coffee, home-compostable Nespresso-compatible pods, and a new instant coffee range launched in 2025 to capture the at-home coffee market. All pods are certified home-compostable, reflecting Grind's B Corp certification and commitment to sustainability. The brand expanded beyond coffee in November 2025 with the launch of Grind Espresso Martini in a can. Grind products are available at most major UK supermarkets alongside their thriving direct-to-consumer online business serving hundreds of thousands of customers worldwide. The brand represents specialty coffee made accessible—ethically sourced, expertly roasted, and sustainably packaged for modern coffee lovers.
