About Invisibobble
Invisibobble is the original spiral hair tie brand, invented in 2011 by Sophie Trelles-Tvede while studying at Warwick University in the UK. The iconic telephone-cord-inspired design came from a eureka moment at a fancy dress party when 18-year-old Sophie used a spiral phone cord to tie her hair and discovered it didn't cause headaches like traditional elastics. She co-founded the company with Felix Haffa and launched in 2013. The German-based company pioneered the spiral hair tie trend, developing the concept with British hairdressers and German engineers. The innovative design distributes pressure evenly around the ponytail, preventing the headaches, kinks, and breakage caused by conventional hair bands. By the time Sophie graduated in 2014, Invisibobble had annual turnover of £5 million, proving the market was ready for a reinvented hair accessory. Invisibobble's rapid growth made it a global phenomenon. By 2017, the company had sold close to 100 million units in 70 countries and employed around 100 people. Sophie Trelles-Tvede was named one of Forbes 30 Under 30 and wrote a book about her entrepreneurial journey titled "100 Million Hair Ties and a Vodka Tonic." The brand is now stocked in over 100,000 retail locations worldwide including Boots, Sephora, and major supermarkets. British shoppers can find Invisibobble products at UK supermarkets and beauty retailers. The range has expanded beyond the original spiral hair ties to include scrunchies, headbands, clips, and other hair accessories. The brand remains synonymous with comfortable, hair-friendly styling that doesn't compromise on hold.
