About Isla Delice
Isla Délice is France's leading halal meat brand, founded in 1990 by entrepreneur Jean-Daniel Hertzog. After building a dominant position in French supermarkets through the late 1990s, Isla Délice has established itself as a mass-market leader in halal charcuterie across Europe. The brand launched in the UK market in 2024 through the strategic acquisition of British halal brand Takul, which had built strong listings at Tesco and Sainsbury's since its 2022 launch by Stonehouse Foods. This acquisition brought Isla Délice's authentic French halal expertise to British supermarkets, with products now available at Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, and Iceland. Isla Délice's comprehensive range spans poultry and beef charcuterie including cooked turkey, mortadella, and dried beef sausage, along with chilled prepared products and frozen items like burgers and meatballs. The UK portfolio now includes over 40 SKUs across both the Isla Délice and Takul brands. All Isla Délice products have been certified halal since January 2013 by the Association Rituelle de la Grande Mosquée de Lyon (ARGML), with permanent on-site inspectors and rigorous ingredient validation ensuring authentic certification. The brand's French heritage combined with certified halal standards offers UK shoppers quality meat products that meet both taste expectations and religious requirements.
