About Me to You
Me to You is the home of Tatty Teddy, the beloved grey bear with the distinctive blue nose, one of Britain's most successful character brands with over 75 million plush toys sold worldwide. ## The Birth of an Icon The Tatty Teddy story began in 1987 when Carte Blanche Greetings founder Stephen Haines commissioned artist Mike Payne to create cute characters for greeting cards. The resulting "Miranda gang" included a brown bear with patches—but the true transformation came in 1995 when the bear was redrawn in charcoal pencil, turning grey with a bright blue nose and extra patches. The Me to You brand was born. ## From Cards to Global Phenomenon What started as a greeting card design quickly became something much bigger. In 2000, Carte Blanche launched the Me to You plush toy line, with the first Tatty Teddy hand-crafted by Linda Laverty of Worthing, West Sussex. The bears proved extraordinarily popular, with redesigns in 2003 (finer fur) and 2009 (longer multi-toned grey fur with blue plastic nose) keeping the character fresh while maintaining its core appeal. ## A Bear with Friends In 2008, "My Blue Nose Friends" expanded the Tatty Teddy universe with other animal characters sharing the same distinctive style. By the 2010s, Me to You was distributed in over 80 countries through international licensing agreements, appearing on everything from greeting cards and plush toys to clothing, gifts, figurines, and confectionery. ## Me to You at UK Supermarkets Grocefully helps you compare Me to You prices at UK supermarkets including Morrisons and Asda.
