About Nettlebed
Nettlebed Creamery is a farmhouse producer of organic artisan cheese, milk, and kefir nestled in the South Oxfordshire countryside. Founded in 2015 by Rose Grimond, the creamery was established to utilise organic milk from her grandfather's farm less than two miles away in Bix. This family farm has been in operation since 1901, went organic in 2001, and now supports an award-winning artisan cheese operation that has become a Chilterns treasure. The creamery is home to multi-award winning organic cheeses including Bix, Witheridge, Highmoor, and St Bartholomew. Nettlebed holds the distinction of being the first cheesemakers in the UK to age cheese in hay, a technique used for their semi-hard Witheridge cheese which won a Great Taste Award in 2019. St Bartholomew, named after the Nettlebed village church, offers deep, nutty flavours with fruity, caramel-y overtones and has won medals at both the Artisan Cheese Fair and British Cheese Awards. Beyond cheese, Nettlebed Creamery produces organic milk, cream, kefir, and ice cream. The business has grown from Rose's solo operation to a dedicated team of ten, including four skilled cheesemakers who maintain the artisan traditions that set Nettlebed apart. Visitors can experience the Cheese Shed for refreshments, signature cheese toasties, and browse their thoughtfully-sourced produce shop. Grocefully helps you compare Nettlebed Creamery cheese prices across UK retailers including Abel & Cole, Pipers Farm, and specialist cheese shops. Whether you're seeking their famous Bix or exploring the unique hay-aged Witheridge, our price comparison ensures you find the best value on these exceptional Oxfordshire organic cheeses.
