About OddBox
Oddbox is a pioneering UK company fighting food waste, founded in 2016 by Deepak and Emilie Vanpoperinghe. Originally known for their subscription boxes delivering "wonky" fruit and vegetables rejected by supermarkets, they've expanded to create curry pastes made entirely from rescued produce. The Oddbox curry paste range represents the "easy-squeezy way to fight food waste." Each jar is crammed with rescued tomatoes that were rejected by supermarkets for being "too small," "too odd," or not quite the right colour, size, or shape. The onions were similarly saved from waste due to cosmetic defects that don't affect their delicious taste. The environmental impact is substantial - Oddbox has saved over 28,383 tonnes of fruit and vegetables from going to waste, enough to feed 61,701 people for an entire year. This has prevented 30,292 tonnes of CO2 emissions and saved 2,965 million litres of water from being wasted. Given that 6.2 million tonnes of food are wasted by the UK food industry annually, every jar makes a difference. The curry paste range includes Thai Red Curry Paste and Balti Curry Paste, each delivering authentic flavour while giving 'class 2' vegetables that would otherwise be wasted a delicious second life. Oddbox works directly with farmers to rescue produce rejected purely for aesthetic reasons. UK shoppers can find Oddbox curry pastes at Tesco, with Grocefully helping you compare prices on these planet-friendly cooking essentials.
