About Omni
OmniFoods is a Hong Kong-based plant-based food company founded by David Yeung, the eco-conscious entrepreneur behind social enterprise Green Monday. The company launched its breakthrough product OmniPork in 2018 and has since expanded into sustainable seafood alternatives with the OmniSeafood range, which includes OmniTuna. OmniTuna is a plant-based alternative to conventional tuna, made from a unique blend of non-GMO soy. The product is designed to replicate the chunky texture and taste of cooked tuna while offering significant nutritional and environmental benefits. Each serving is high in protein (12g), low in saturated fat, and a source of fibre, while being completely mercury-free - addressing a major concern with conventional tuna consumption. The formula delivers omega-3 ALA derived from non-GMO canola oil and is free from trans fat, cholesterol, hormones, artificial colours, MSG, added antibiotics, or preservatives. Packaged in tins similar to traditional tuna, OmniTuna can be used in sandwiches, salads, wraps, or on crackers as a sustainable protein option. OmniFoods developed OmniSeafood with a clear environmental mission. As David Yeung explains, "We cannot tackle climate change without taking care of the ocean. Overfishing and bottom trawling are the most destructive actions that devastate our marine ecosystems." This positions OmniTuna as both a dietary choice and an ethical one for consumers concerned about ocean sustainability. Available in the UK through Tesco and specialty retailers, OmniTuna comes in varieties including flakes in oil and flakes in mayo, offering convenient plant-based protein for everyday meals.
