About One Water
One Water is an ethical bottled water brand created in 2005 with a mission to fund clean water projects for communities living in extreme poverty around the world. With every bottle sold, One Water funds sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programs across Sub-Saharan Africa, transforming an everyday purchase into life-changing impact. The brand was founded after its creator was caught in Hurricane Mitch in Honduras in 1998 - a natural disaster that killed over 11,000 people and resulted in widespread lack of access to clean, safe water. This experience inspired the vision of creating a bottled water company that could fund water access for vulnerable communities. Over 20 years on, One Water and its associated charity The One Foundation (UK Registered Charity No. 1118810) have raised over £30 million and transformed the lives of more than 5 million people. The foundation invests these funds into sustainable WASH programs across Sub-Saharan Africa, ensuring long-term impact rather than short-term fixes. One Water sources 100% British spring water and has secured partnerships with major UK retailers. Co-op has been a partner since 2007, enabling customers to make a difference through everyday sustainable choices. The brand is now available across UK supermarkets including Tesco, making ethical hydration accessible to mainstream consumers. The brand's current campaign, "do one good thing," encourages small, meaningful choices in daily life. Available in plastic bottles, aluminium bottles, and sustainable cartons, One Water demonstrates that consumer products can successfully combine quality with social impact.
