About Push Pop
Push Pop is an iconic lollipop brand that revolutionised the way children enjoy sweets when it launched in 1986. Created by The Topps Company, Push Pop introduced a unique design where the lollipop pushes up from the bottom of a tube as it's eaten, making it more convenient and far less messy than traditional lollipops. The original launch featured cherry and grape flavours, quickly becoming a playground favourite. The brand has evolved significantly over the decades with continuous innovation. The early 1990s saw the launch of the spring-activated Jumbo Push Pop, while the late 1990s introduced the multi-layered Triple Power Push Pop. More recent additions include Push Pop Dipperz, combining the classic lollipop with popping candy for an interactive experience, and Push Pop Flip featuring dual-ended designs. In 2020, the brand expanded into gummy variants with the Push Pop Gummy Roll. Push Pop is now part of Bazooka Candy Brands, which was created in 2009 when Topps reorganised its confectionery operations. The brand sits alongside other childhood favourites including Ring Pop, Baby Bottle Pop, Juicy Drop, and the legendary Bazooka Bubble Gum. In 2015, the brand mascot "Pushy" appeared in his first commercial, further cementing the candy's popular appeal with a new generation of children. The company describes its philosophy as "Edible Entertainment" – creating delicious candies with interactive packaging that makes sweet-eating an experience rather than just a snack. In October 2023, Bazooka Candy Brands was acquired by Apax Partners for approximately $700 million, demonstrating the continued strength of these nostalgic confectionery brands in the global market.
