About Rude Health
Rude Health is a pioneering British healthy food brand, co-founded in 2005 by Camilla and Nick Barnard at their kitchen table with just £4,000. Dissatisfied with supermarket cereals, they created a 23-ingredient muesli designed to prove that healthy food could be delicious—not bland and boring. A breakthrough deal with Waitrose in 2008 provided stability during the financial crisis. In 2013, responding to customer demand for dairy-free options, Rude Health launched its plant milk range—now accounting for 75% of revenue and becoming the UK's fifth best-selling plant-based drinks. The brand has won 24 Great Taste Awards and now offers over 60 products including mueslis, granolas, porridge, crackers, and bars. In 2020, PepsiCo invested in a 10% stake, valuing Rude Health at £70 million. In October 2024, Finnish firm Oddlygood (a Valio subsidiary) acquired the company, sharing its values of nutrition-forward plant-based products. The plant milk range includes Oat, Almond, Coconut, Brown Rice, Cashew, Tiger Nut, and Soya varieties. The Organic Oat Barista launched in 2024 for coffee lovers. New No Sugars variants in Oat and Almond address the 72% of consumers trying to reduce sugar intake. All milks use minimal ingredients without unnecessary additives. The Ultimate Muesli remains a flagship product—a generous blend of over 20 ingredients including oats, dried apricots, dates, almonds, hazelnuts, seeds, and cinnamon. Muesli is made in the UK using organic oats, fruits, and nuts, while granola uses organic Sicilian almonds and gluten-free British oats. Rude Health products are available at Waitrose, Ocado, Sainsbury's, and health food stores across the UK. Compare prices with Grocefully.
