About The Tomato Stall
The Tomato Stall is a pioneering British tomato producer based in the Arreton Valley on the Isle of Wight, an area blessed with some of the highest levels of sunlight anywhere in the UK and a mild maritime climate ideal for growing exceptional tomatoes. Founded in 2007, the company has grown from humble beginnings to become the largest organic tomato grower in the United Kingdom, producing almost 7 million kilos of tomato products annually. The nursery spans around 60 acres of glasshouse in the fertile Arreton Valley, where tomatoes have been cultivated for over 30 years. The Tomato Stall grows approximately 200 varieties of tomato—from traditional heirlooms to super-sweet mini varieties—with 30% of the site dedicated to organic production and 70% conventionally managed. Under the leadership of Managing Director Paul Thomas, the business now operates across three premises with over 30 employees and a fleet of delivery vans. Sustainability is central to The Tomato Stall's operations. Their entire growing system is biodegradable, including the coconut husk growing medium and plant support strings. All plant waste is composted on-site to fertilise subsequent crops. Natural predators control pests, UK-native bumblebees handle pollination, and rainwater harvesting provides year-round irrigation. The company proudly carries the LEAF mark for sustainable farming, operating within the Isle of Wight's accredited biosphere reserve. Beyond fresh tomatoes, The Tomato Stall produces passata and other tomato products, available at UK retailers including Ocado. They supply independent farm shops, specialist wholesalers, delis, and hospitality venues nationwide, with home delivery available through their Box Scheme. Products are also found at London Farmers' Markets and premium food retailers like Melrose and Morgan.
