About Zatu Games
Zatu Games is the UK's biggest independent tabletop games retailer, founded in 2016 by entrepreneur Simon Budd and his wife as a family-run company. Originally established as Board Game Limited before being incorporated as Zatu Limited on 15 February 2016, the company is headquartered in Norwich, Norfolk at the Bowthorpe Employment Area. Budd brought a unique background to the gaming industry, having spent ten years in the financial sector before transitioning to entrepreneurship with his wife through their previous venture Lifeline24. From its origins as an online retailer operating through board-game.co.uk, Zatu Games has grown into a multi-million pound business. The company's expansion has been remarkable, evolving from a focused board game seller to a comprehensive gaming and collectibles destination. Their catalogue now encompasses board games, trading card games including Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering, Warhammer miniatures, LEGO sets, action figures, and an extensive range of pop culture collectibles. They've also moved into distribution, supplying products to other retailers across the UK and USA. Beyond online retail, Zatu Games operates a physical shop and Gaming Centre in Norfolk, providing a community hub for tabletop gaming enthusiasts. The centre hosts regular trading card game tournaments and board game nights, fostering a local gaming community. This combination of online reach and physical presence has helped establish Zatu as a trusted name in UK gaming retail, offering both the convenience of e-commerce and the personal experience of in-store shopping and gaming. The product range available through retailers like Tesco showcases Zatu's collectibles expertise. This includes NECA action figures from franchises like Back to the Future, Terminator, and Predator, Funko POP! vinyl figures, Star Wars collectibles, anime figures, Mego horror figures, and gaming accessories like card sleeves. By partnering with supermarkets, Zatu brings specialist gaming and collectibles products to mainstream retail channels, making hobby products more accessible to casual shoppers.
