About Mason Cash
Mason Cash is a British heritage kitchenware brand with origins tracing back to 1800 in Church Gresley, at the heart of England's ceramic industry. The pottery was named after Master Potter William Mason ('Bossy' Mason), with Thomas Cash purchasing the business in 1901 and renaming it Mason Cash & Co. The iconic Mason Cash mixing bowl was born that same year, and its design has barely changed in over 120 years. The distinctive cane-coloured mixing bowls are made from high-quality, chip-resistant earthenware. The bowls are heavy enough to stay stable during manual mixing yet light enough to hold comfortably. The patterned exterior provides grip whilst enhancing timeless elegance, and the white interior helps bakers see mixture colour and consistency for perfect results. Church Gresley was ideal for ceramics due to local clay and coal deposits, giving Mason Cash products their characteristic 'yellow ware' colouring. The company evolved through the 20th century—expanding into petware in the 1930s, continuing production through the Second World War, and changing ownership several times. In 1973 A. B. Merriam acquired the company, followed by John Perks in 1979. Mason Cash purchased T. G. Green in 2001, reviving the Cornish Blue kitchenware line. Today, Mason Cash is part of The Rayware Group (formerly Typhoon Homewares), founded in 1975 and headquartered in England. The Rayware Group portfolio includes other heritage British brands: Kilner (preserving jars since 1842), Viners (Sheffield cutlery, acquired 2014), Price & Kensington (Stoke-on-Trent ceramics, 125+ years), Typhoon (kitchen storage since 1989), and Ravenhead (glassware). Mason Cash products are designed in England and sold across the UK at supermarkets, cook shops, department stores and garden centres.
