About Natracare
Natracare is the pioneering organic period care brand founded in 1989 by Susie Hewson in Bristol. After watching a documentary about dioxin pollution from chlorine bleaching in the pulp industry, she became an 'art school disruptor' determined to create safer alternatives. With a £90,000 overdraft from NatWest, she introduced the world's first organic, plastic-free tampon. Natracare achieved multiple industry firsts: the first certified organic 100% cotton tampons in 1996, and the first totally chlorine-free, plastic-free pads and liners. The brand demonstrated that period products could be natural, effective, and environmentally responsible. Susie Hewson won the 2008 Women in Ethical Business Award, and Natracare received the Queen's Awards for Enterprise for export in 2018. Today, Natracare sells 1.5 million packs annually in the UK and 17.5 million worldwide. Products include organic tampons (with and without applicators), ultra and maxi pads with wings, curved and ultra-thin pantyliners, incontinence pads, maternity pads, and safe-to-flush moist tissues. All products are made from organic cotton and natural materials, free from plastics, chlorine bleaching, and synthetic chemicals. Compare Natracare prices at UK supermarkets on Grocefully.
