About Avogel
A.Vogel is Switzerland's largest producer of herbal remedies, founded by Alfred Vogel when he opened his first health food store in Basel on January 1, 1923. For over 100 years, the brand has championed natural health through fresh plant-based remedies, earning global recognition for quality and scientific rigour in herbal medicine. Alfred Vogel (1902-1996) was a visionary Swiss herbalist, naturopath and writer who dedicated his life to researching medicinal plants. His breakthrough came after a visit to Native American communities, where he received echinacea seeds from Ben Black Elk. Back in Switzerland, Vogel cultivated and studied the plant, eventually launching Echinaforce in 1955. This immune support remedy became the company's flagship product and has helped millions worldwide. The company formally incorporated as Bioforce AG in 1963 and is now known as A.Vogel AG, headquartered in Roggwil, Switzerland. With a turnover of 115 million Swiss Francs, products available in 30 countries, and approximately 500 employees, A.Vogel has grown from one herbalist's vision into a global natural health leader. The A.Vogel Museum opened in 2024 at Alfred Vogel's historic medicinal plant garden in Teufen. The A.Vogel range includes Echinaforce for immunity, Atrogel for muscles, Dormeasan for sleep, and remedies for hay fever, joints and digestion. All products stay true to Alfred Vogel's philosophy of using fresh plant extracts, combining traditional herbal wisdom with modern scientific research.
