About Brownings The Bakers
Brownings The Bakers is one of Scotland's largest traditional craft bakeries, established in 1945 in Kilmarnock by John Howie Browning and wife Margaret. Now led by grandson John Gall - the only Scottish winner of British Baker of the Year in 30 years - the family business has grown from humble beginnings to £9m+ turnover with 210 loyal employees. Brownings has twice won the World Scotch Pie Championship, and their signature Kilmarnock Pie was named best pie in Scottish football. The bakery specialises in authentic Scottish favourites: morning rolls, tattie scones, buttermilk soda scones, oven scones, and award-winning savoury pies. Products are freshly baked in Kilmarnock and delivered across Scotland to major supermarkets including M&S, Aldi, Waitrose, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury's.
