About Hollands
Holland's Pies is Britain's best-selling frozen pie brand, with a proud Lancashire heritage dating back to 1851. Founded by father and daughter John and Sarah Whittaker as a confectioner's shop in Haslingden, the company has been baking from its Baxenden bakery near Accrington since 1929, now producing over one million pies every week. The company's history is deeply rooted in Lancashire tradition. After Sarah married Richard Holland in 1869, the business was renamed Walter Holland and Sons. Through world wars, rationing, and multiple ownership changes including Northern Foods (1979) and 2 Sisters Food Group (2011), Holland's has remained true to its pie-making heritage. In 2024, the bakery division was acquired by Ireland-based Innovest Holdings. Holland's dominates the North West market with over 80% market share and supplies 85% of fish and chip shops in the region. Their frozen supermarket range includes classic Steak & Kidney Pies and Puddings featuring slow-cooked diced steak in rich gravy wrapped in unique golden shortcrust pastry. Other favourites include Meat & Potato Pies, Chicken & Mushroom Pies, Cheese & Onion Pies, and traditional Cornish-style Pasties. All pies and puddings are blast frozen fresh from the bakery, ready to deliver oven-fresh results at home. Products can be oven baked or microwaved in minutes. The 2024 expanded range introduced new sausage rolls, bakes, wraps, and puddings to their offering. Compare Holland's prices across UK supermarkets including Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Iceland, and Farm Foods with Grocefully to find the best value on Britain's favourite frozen pies.
