About Irvings Homestyle Bakery
Irving's Homestyle Bakery is a beloved Scottish family bakery based in Castle Douglas, Dumfries & Galloway, producing traditional homestyle biscuits, tray bakes, loaves and sponges since 1988. What began as Mrs Irving baking biscuits in her kitchen to sell at the family farm shop has grown into a successful bakery supplying major UK supermarkets while maintaining their commitment to authentic farmhouse recipes. The Irving family story is one of organic growth and traditional values. After selling homemade bakes at their farm shop for a year, the bakery was officially born in November 1988 when Mr and Mrs Irving started work in a small unit in Castle Douglas. By March 1989, demand had grown enough to hire their first employees. Their son Keith joined in 1991, and by April 1992 they moved to their current premises at Abercromby Road Industrial Park, where they continue to bake today. Irving's produces over 60 products using mainly traditional home-style recipes handed down through several generations of Mrs Irving's family. From old favourites like Perkins and Sultana Drops to tray bakes including Millionaire Shortbread and their popular Galloway Fruit Loaf, everything is baked from scratch using simple, readily available ingredients. Importantly, they do not directly use any additives or preservatives. Compare Irving's Homestyle Bakery prices across UK supermarkets with Grocefully.
