About KP
KP Snacks is Britain's second largest snack food producer, with origins dating back to 1853 in Rotherham. The "KP" stands for "Kenyon Produce", from the original company Kenyon & Son founded as a confectionery, jam, and pickle producer. KP has been nuts about nuts since 1953 and is now the UK's number one nut brand and the nation's favourite peanut. In 1948, Kenyon, Son & Craven was acquired by Simon Heller of Leeds and began producing roasted and salted hazelnuts in Rotherham, originally for cinema sales. The company introduced Hercules Nuts in 1952 and launched the KP Nuts peanut brand in 1953. KP became part of United Biscuits in 1968 before being sold to German company Intersnack in December 2012 for £500 million. KP Nuts are made from just one natural ingredient: delicious peanuts from Argentina, expertly roasted and blended for rich natural flavour. The range includes Dry Roasted Peanuts, Salted Peanuts, Honey Roast Cashews, and more. KP peanuts are a great source of protein and fibre. The wider KP Snacks portfolio includes iconic British crisp brands: Hula Hoops (the distinctive ring-shaped snack since 1973), McCoy's (UK's number one ridged crisp since 1985), Skips, Nik Naks, Space Raiders, Wheat Crunchies, Discos, Frisps, Royster's, Brannigan's, and Phileas Fogg. KP also acquired Tyrrells premium crisps in 2018 and Popchips in 2018. KP Snacks is now headquartered in Slough and is part of the Intersnack Group, a European snack market leader present in over 30 countries. Together KP and Intersnack UK hold approximately 14% of the British snacks market.
