About Salt of the Earth
Salt of the Earth is a pioneering British natural deodorant brand that has been keeping customers odour-free since 1993. Originally launching as Crystal Spring with a single natural crystal deodorant, the brand was acquired by Sally Laird in 2005 and rebranded as Salt of the Earth in 2008, growing from a tiny two-product company to an award-winning natural deodorant leader. The family-owned business now operates from a 16,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire, where nearly all Salt of the Earth deodorants are developed and produced in-house. This British manufacturing heritage ensures quality control while supporting local employment. The brand holds COSMOS Certification, independently verifying that products are 100% Natural Origin. Innovation has been central to Salt of the Earth's success. In 2013, they became one of the first companies to introduce deodorant refills, addressing plastic waste concerns years before sustainability became a mainstream priority. This forward-thinking approach has helped the brand sell over 10 million deodorants while accumulating more than 69 awards, including the prestigious King's Award for Enterprise for International Trade in 2025. Today's Salt of the Earth range extends far beyond the original crystal deodorant that started it all. The brand offers roll-ons, sprays, balms, sticks and their bestselling Classic crystal in various scents, all free from aluminium, parabens and artificial fragrances. Their effectiveness has converted countless sceptics to natural deodorant.
