About Village Bakery
Village Bakery (Jones' Village Bakery) is an award-winning Welsh bakery with roots dating back to 1934. The brand was established in 1964 when Alan Jones and his father bought a small family bakery in Coedpoeth, North Wales, committing to making good, honest, affordable bread that never compromises on quality. Today, Village Bakery operates across three sites in North Wales with headquarters on Wrexham Industrial Estate. They produce a range of breads, pies and morning goods under their own brand while also working with larger clients on private label products. The brand has earned remarkable recognition in the industry, becoming the only bakery to win the prestigious 'Craft Bakery of the Year' award three times. In 2013, they were crowned the fastest growing company in Wales with the Fast Growth 50 award, followed by 'Bakery Manufacturer of the Year' in 2014. UK supermarket products include their signature Welsh Batch Loaf, Slow-dough Crumpets, Brown Rolls, and White Rolls. Their slow-dough process creates authentic texture and flavour that sets their products apart. In July 2024, French bakery group Menissez acquired a majority stake in Village Bakery, investing £20 million in a new production line that doubled roll-making capacity. This partnership combines Welsh craft tradition with international expertise. At Grocefully, compare Village Bakery prices across UK retailers including Tesco, Waitrose, Ocado and Morrisons to find the best deals on quality Welsh baked goods.
