About 6 Oclock Gin
6 O'clock Gin is an award-winning British craft gin brand, patiently distilled in small batches by the family-run artisan spirit company Bramley & Gage at Bristol's only distillery in Thornbury. Launched in 2010, 6 O'clock was one of the pioneering craft gins in the modern British gin revolution, following Sipsmith in reviving the art of small-batch gin distillation. The brand's heritage stretches back to 1988 when Edward and Penny Kain established Dittisham Fruit Farm in Devon, creating liqueurs from their surplus soft fruit. In 2007, their children Michael and Felicity moved the flourishing distillery to Bristol, where Edward continued as Master Distiller. Together, they perfected an old family recipe to create the strikingly smooth gin that would become 6 O'clock. The distinctive 6 O'clock Gin name was inspired by a cherished family tradition – enjoying the first G&T of the evening at precisely six o'clock. This very British custom, with its colonial roots, is still observed at the distillery and shared by gin lovers worldwide. The iconic Bristol-blue glass bottle has become instantly recognisable on back bars and shelves across the UK. Production takes place on 'Kathleen', the distillery's unique double-bubble still. Her distinctive double-sphere head increases contact between evaporating alcohol and copper, creating increased reflux that ensures the striking smoothness 6 O'clock is renowned for. The current range includes the flagship London Dry, Damson and Sloe fruit gins (with twice the maturation time of competitors), Brunel export-strength spiced gin, and Romy's Mango, Ginger & Lime collaboration with chef Romy Gill MBE. UK shoppers can find 6 O'clock Gin at supermarkets and specialist retailers. Grocefully helps you compare 6 O'clock Gin prices across UK stores, bringing this pioneering Bristol craft gin to your home bar at the best prices.
