About Caffe Nero
Caffè Nero is one of the UK's leading Italian-style coffee chains, founded by Gerry Ford in 1997 with the mission to bring authentic European coffeehouse culture to Britain. With over 632 coffee houses across the UK and £185.4 million in sales (H2 2025), Caffè Nero has established itself as a staple of British high streets. The signature Classico blend has been served in every Caffè Nero store for over 25 years, earning multiple awards for quality. This medium Italian roast delivers sweet, balanced flavours with notes of chocolate, hazelnuts, and caramel. The blend is now available for home brewing through UK supermarkets. Supermarket products include Classico Espresso Ground Coffee and Classico Whole Beans, both Rainforest Alliance certified. The Strength 7 medium roast (7/10) replicates the café experience at home, made from 100% coffee with no additives. Products are available at Morrisons and other UK retailers. In 2024, Caffè Nero expanded its retail presence through partnerships, opening branches within John Lewis stores and "Best of Both" concept cafés within Waitrose combining Caffè Nero coffee with Waitrose food. This reflects growing demand for premium café-quality coffee at home, with the brand delivering consistent 5-7% sales growth in 2025.
