About Cranes
Cranes is Britain's fastest growing cider company, founded in 2012 by identical twin brothers Ben and Dan Ritsema during their university days. Shocked by the amount of sugar in popular fruit ciders, they set out to create a healthier, more refreshing alternative. The brand name comes from "crane-berries" - the original name for cranberries, so-called because the blossom of the cranberry vine resembles a crane's head. This discovery by the brothers' father perfectly captured their cranberry-based cider concept. After graduating, Ben and Dan spent 8 months perfecting their recipe in 5-litre demijohns before building a micro-brewery in their uncle's barn. Today, Cranes Ciders are handcrafted at their brewery in Cambridge. Key product benefits: • 30% fewer calories than brand leaders • Over 40% less sugar • Naturally brewed with cranberries and apples • Vegan and gluten-free • Fresh, crisp taste from superfruit ingredients The Cranes range includes distinctive flavour combinations: • Blueberries & Apples • Cranberries & Limes • Other seasonal and limited edition varieties From humble beginnings, Cranes has achieved national distribution, now available at Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons, Tesco, Ocado, and East of England Co-op. The brand celebrated 11 years in 2023 and sponsored the Cambridge Folk Festival. Grocefully helps UK shoppers compare prices on Cranes Cider across major supermarkets, finding the best deals on these healthier, refreshingly natural fruit ciders.
