About Galpharm
Galpharm is the UK's biggest supplier of non-prescription medicines, founded in 1982 by Graham Leslie in Dodworth, Barnsley, South Yorkshire. For over four decades, Galpharm has provided British families with affordable, quality over-the-counter healthcare products that offer the same active ingredients as leading branded medicines at lower prices. In 2008, American pharmaceutical giant Perrigo acquired Galpharm for $86 million, recognising the brand's strong position in the UK market. Under Perrigo ownership, Galpharm continues to supply over-the-counter medicines to supermarkets, pharmacies, and drug stores across the country. Perrigo UK also produces other well-known healthcare brands including Nytol, NiQuitin, Bronchostop, Bio-Oil, and Jungle Formula. The Galpharm name became familiar to many through its sponsorship of Huddersfield Town FC's stadium, which was known as the Galpharm Stadium from 2004 to 2012. This visible presence reinforced the brand's Yorkshire roots and commitment to local communities before the naming rights passed to other sponsors. UK supermarkets stock a comprehensive range of Galpharm healthcare products including One a Day Hayfever & Allergy Relief tablets (containing Loratadine or Cetirizine), ibuprofen tablets and children's liquid formulations, cold and flu remedies, cold sore cream, diarrhoea relief capsules, Cystocalm cystitis sachets, and bites and stings treatment cream.
