About Hipp
HiPP is one of the world's most trusted organic baby food brands, with over 125 years of family heritage. The story began in 1899 when Joseph Hipp, a Bavarian baker, created an innovative rusk-based cereal to feed his newborn twins. His culinary skills and parental instinct laid the foundation for what would become Germany's leading baby food manufacturer. Georg Hipp officially founded the company "Nährmittel Hipp" on 1 July 1932, beginning industrial baby food production in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm, Bavaria. In 1956, Georg pioneered organic farming for baby food production—inspired by Swiss organic-biological farming pioneer Dr. Hans Müller—becoming the first German company to industrially produce organic baby food. By 1959/1960, the iconic glass jars were introduced for hygienic reasons. Now in its fourth generation under brothers Stefan and Sebastian Hipp, the company has grown into the world's largest processor of organic raw materials, working with a network of more than 8,000 contract farmers. The range includes over 130 organic varieties of cooked purées and meals for babies and toddlers, plus milk formulas, dairy products, cereals, biscuits, and drinks. HiPP's commitment to organic extends beyond ingredients—the company maintains strict quality standards that often exceed EU organic requirements. The German headquarters remain in Pfaffenhofen, with Hipp Holding based in Switzerland. Products are sold across Europe including the UK, available in supermarkets, pharmacies, and online retailers. The brand brings together traditional family values with modern innovation, ensuring babies receive healthy, tasty, and sustainably produced nutrition from their very first meals. HiPP Organic is available at UK supermarkets including Tesco, Sainsbury's, Boots, and Waitrose. Compare prices with Grocefully.
