About Italeri
Italeri S.p.A. is Italy's premier plastic scale model manufacturer, founded in 1962 near Bologna by Giuliano Malservisi and Gian Pietro Parmeggiani. Born from a childhood passion for airplanes and military vehicles, the founders' dissatisfaction with available models led them to create their own hobby-turned-business. The company's journey began as "Italstamp" with the "Aliplast" brand, launching their first kit - a 1:72 Fiat G.55 Italian fighter. After evolving through "Italaerei," the name was contracted to "Italeri" for international appeal, featuring the iconic red and green stripes of the Italian flag to highlight their proud "Made in Italy" heritage. Italeri has earned global recognition for unique subject choices, particularly Italian military aviation from World War II. Their range includes famous Regia Aeronautica aircraft from the Fiat CR.42 Falco biplane fighter to the Savoia-Marchetti SM.82 bomber. The company is also the world leader in truck and trailer model kits, demonstrating versatility across scales and subjects. Through strategic acquisitions of Supermodel, Protar, and ESCI moulds, Italeri has expanded its comprehensive catalogue. Their commitment to accuracy is exemplified by the Photographic Reference Manual (PRM) series, providing extensive historical and modelling details. From 1:12 classic cars like the Fiat 806 Grand Prix to 1:35 military vehicles such as the LAV-25 TUA, Italeri delivers precision craftsmanship for modellers of all skill levels.
