About Klorane
Klorane is a pioneering French botanical haircare brand with a heritage dating back to 1965. Founded by pharmacist Pierre Fabre in Southwest France, the brand's name derives from 'chlorophyll', reflecting his passionate belief that plant extracts hold the key to hair health and beauty. This philosophy of pure botanical care revolutionised the haircare industry. The brand achieved a historic milestone in 1971 by launching the world's first-ever dry shampoo, originally developed to help new mothers in hospital maintain their hair between washes. Today, one Klorane dry shampoo is sold every 10 seconds globally, with the oat milk formula becoming particularly iconic. The 1966 chamomile shampoo for blonde hair was another ground-breaking product that remains popular. Klorane follows Pierre Fabre's founding principle of 'one plant extract = one specific concern'. Their targeted ranges include oat milk for sensitive scalps, quinine with edelweiss for thinning hair, mango for dry hair, aquatic mint for detoxing pollution-exposed hair, and organic peony for scalp sensitivity. Over 95% of products are manufactured in France. Part of Pierre Fabre Group, the world's second-largest dermo-cosmetics laboratory, Klorane maintains its environmental commitment through the Klorane Botanical Foundation established in 1994. Modern innovations include eco-friendly solid shampoo bars and sustainable packaging, continuing Pierre Fabre's legacy of botanical excellence.
