About Lajkonik
Lajkonik is Poland's legendary pretzel and salted snacks brand with over 110 years of history. Founded in 1910 by Austrian merchant Henryk Franck in Skawina near Krakow, the company began as a coffee surrogate factory before evolving into Poland's premier savoury snack producer. The brand takes its name from the iconic Lajkonik, one of Krakow's most beloved folk symbols - a bearded man dressed as a Tatar warrior riding a hobby horse, celebrated annually in the city's historic parade. Since 1970, the factory has focused exclusively on what it does best: producing authentic Polish Paluszki (salted sticks) and pretzels. In 1993, Lajkonik joined the Lorenz snacks group, enabling significant expansion and modernisation while maintaining traditional recipes. The company celebrated its centenary in 2010 and continues production at the original Skawina facility near Krakow. Today, Lajkonik snacks are enjoyed throughout Europe and the UK.
