About Levi Roots
Levi Roots is one of Britain's most celebrated food entrepreneurs, famous for his appearance on Dragons' Den in February 2007 where he secured £50,000 investment from Peter Jones and Richard Farleigh for his Reggae Reggae Sauce. The brand is now estimated to be worth around £35 million. Born Keith Valentine Graham in Jamaica, Levi moved to Brixton, London at age 11 as part of the Windrush generation. His grandmother's jerk recipe became the foundation of Reggae Reggae Sauce. His memorable pitch included serenading the Dragons with a guitar and reggae song - Peter Jones has called it one of his most successful investments from the show. Within six weeks of the programme airing, Sainsbury's stocked the sauce in 600 stores nationwide. Over one million bottles sold in the first year alone. The brand has since expanded to over 50 products including Caribbean-inspired sauces, snacks, ready meals, and drinks. Major chains like Domino's, KFC, Subway, and Hungry Horse have featured Reggae Reggae sauce on their menus.
