About Like
Like (formerly LikeMeat) is a pioneering German plant-based meat company co-founded in 2013 by Robert Haub and Timo Recker. The brand has grown to become Germany's second-largest plant-based food company. In 2020, Like was acquired by Livekindly Collective, a plant-based roll-up company owned by investment firm Blue Horizon, joining a portfolio of innovative meat alternative brands targeting the growing flexitarian market. After a brief hiatus from the UK market in 2022, Like returned in September 2024 with a refreshed brand identity specifically targeting Gen Z flexitarians. The relaunch began at Tesco before expanding to Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Asda and Iceland. All products are competitively priced at £2.75, positioning Like as an accessible entry point for consumers exploring plant-based alternatives without premium pricing barriers. Like's UK product range focuses on frozen convenience items including Chicken Nuggets, Popcorn Chicken (300g), Chicken Burgers (320g four-pack), and Hot Dogs (360g). The products are made from textured soy protein and wheat gluten, delivering impressive nutritional profiles. Each 80g chicken burger patty provides 9.6g of protein and 4.7g of fibre with only 3.2g of fat. These frozen products are designed for versatile use as standalone snacks or as protein additions to bowls, salads, pastas and wraps. Like competes directly with established UK plant-based chicken brands including Quorn, Bird's Eye Green Cuisine, Moving Mountains, VFC, and THIS. The brand's bold, modern packaging and marketing specifically targets younger consumers making the transition to meat-reduced diets.
