About St Austell
St Austell Brewery is one of Cornwall's most celebrated institutions, founded in 1851 by Walter Hicks and still proudly family-owned after more than 170 years. As one of only 30 independently family-owned breweries remaining in the UK, St Austell represents the finest tradition of British craft brewing from its home in the heart of Cornwall. The brewery's flagship beer is Tribute Pale Ale, originally launched as "Daylight Robbery" to commemorate the 1999 solar eclipse and now accounting for around 80% of sales. Brewed with Cornish spring water, Cornish Gold and Maris Otter malts, Tribute delivers delicious full-bodied malt flavours with a distinctive citrus aroma that has earned it multiple awards. Proper Job IPA showcases the brewery's innovation, developed by legendary head brewer Roger Ryman - the only brewer to win UK Brewer of the Year twice. Packed with vibrant citrus, grapefruit, and pineapple flavours, Proper Job exemplifies authentic IPA crafted with heartfelt passion. The brand was refreshed in 2024 to bring heritage and craft to modern beer lovers. With over 160 pubs across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, and Dorset, St Austell Brewery beers are now available at UK supermarkets. Compare St Austell beer prices at Grocefully to find the best deals.
