About Stroud Brewery
Stroud Brewery holds the distinction of being the world's first organic and B-Corp certified brewery, founded in 2006 by Greg Pilley in Thrupp on the edge of Stroud in the Cotswolds. With a mission to make outstanding organic beer without damaging the planet, this Gloucestershire brewery puts sustainability at the heart of everything they do. The brewery's commitment to locality is remarkable - malt and barley are sourced from within just 15 miles of their Thrupp home, using Cotswolds-grown organic malting barley and whole hops. All Stroud Brewery beers are Soil Association accredited, ensuring the highest standards of organic production from field to glass. Environmental innovation runs throughout operations: solar-powered electricity, heat reclamation, and rainwater harvesting minimize their footprint. Waste grains and hops become cattle feed and compost, while a switch from glass to cans reduces transport carbon emissions. Their BPA-free cans demonstrate attention to consumer health alongside environmental responsibility. Tom Long Organic Amber Bitter and Budding Organic Pale Ale showcase traditional British brewing crafted with organic integrity. The brewery has also partnered with River Cottage on special beers including Stinger, which contains foraged nettles. Their LOL lager won Best Canned Session Lager nationally at BeerX. UK shoppers can find Stroud Brewery organic beers at Tesco, with Grocefully helping you compare prices on these planet-friendly craft ales.
