About The Spice Tailor
The Spice Tailor is an award-winning British Indian food brand founded in July 2011 by celebrity chef and cookery writer Anjum Anand and her husband Adarsh Sethia. The brand was created to bring authentic, restaurant-quality Indian cooking to UK kitchens, dispelling the myth that Indian cuisine is unhealthy or difficult to prepare. Anjum Anand, born in London and trained in European business administration, grew up frustrated that supermarket Indian products didn't reflect the real flavours she experienced at home. The Spice Tailor was her solution: easy-to-use meal kits that taste homemade, with no artificial colours, flavours, preservatives, or fillers. The curry kits are cooked in small batches using traditional methods that layer ingredients step-by-step to build authentic depth of flavour. Each kit provides a simple 3-step process that enables anyone, from kitchen novice to proficient cook, to achieve delicious results. Most kits include a whole dried chilli that can be left out for mild dishes or ground up for extra heat. The Indian curry kit range includes beloved classics like Butter Chicken, Original Tikka Masala, and Rustic Rogan Josh, alongside regional specialities like Keralan Coconut Curry, Fiery Goan Curry, Southern Pepper Curry, and Spicy Bengali Jalfrezi. The wider range includes biryani kits, tandoori marinades, daals, naans, chutneys, and crispy poppadoms. In October 2022, The Spice Tailor was acquired by Premier Foods, the company behind Bisto, Oxo, and Mr Kipling. The brand continues to operate under Premier Foods ownership, maintaining its commitment to authentic recipes. The Spice Tailor is available at UK supermarkets including Tesco, Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Morrisons, and Ocado. Compare prices across retailers with Grocefully.
