About Tiptree
Tiptree is Britain's most prestigious preserve brand, made by Wilkin & Sons in the Essex village of Tiptree since 1885. The Wilkin family have been farming in the area since 1757, transitioning to fruit growing in the 1860s before Arthur Charles Wilkin founded the Britannia Fruit Preserving Company. The company has held a Royal Warrant continuously since 1911 and was recently granted a new Royal Warrant as Purveyors of Tiptree Products to His Majesty King Charles III. For over 140 years, Tiptree has been synonymous with quality preserves, now exported to more than sixty countries worldwide. What makes Tiptree special is their commitment to traditional methods. Preserves are cooked in small batches using traditional copper-bottom pans, with each batch producing only 150 jars. Cherished recipes use high-quality fruit—where possible from their own Essex estate. The famous Little Scarlet strawberries are grown exclusively on Tiptree land. The extensive range includes over 135 products: conserves (jams), marmalades, curds, honey, jellies, nut butters, and reduced sugar options. Signature conserves include Little Scarlet Strawberry, Raspberry, Morello Cherry, and luxury variants like Strawberry with Champagne. Marmalades range from Fine Cut to Thick Cut, including Orange with Malt Whisky. Fruits grown at Tiptree include strawberries, raspberries, cherries, loganberries, damsons, greengages, Victoria plums, medlars, and mulberries. The Tiptree Visitor Centre in Essex features a tearoom, shop, and museum celebrating the company's heritage. Tiptree preserves are available at UK supermarkets including Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury's, and independent delicatessens. Compare prices across retailers with Grocefully.
