About Volvic
Volvic is a premium natural mineral water brand owned by Danone, sourced from the volcanic region of Auvergne in central France. The brand's journey began around 13,500 years ago when volcanic eruptions formed an impervious bedrock—a natural water filter of extraordinary purity. The first springs in the Volvic area were tapped in 1922, with the first bottles appearing on the market in 1938. The brand has been established since 1935 and was acquired by Groupe Danone in October 1993. Today, Volvic is one of Danone's flagship international water brands alongside Evian. Volvic's unique character comes from its source within one of Europe's largest nature reserves. Starting as rainwater, it filters through six layers of volcanic rock over five years, emerging with a distinctive mineral composition and pure, clean taste. This natural filtration process gives Volvic its signature smooth character. The UK product range includes natural still mineral water, sparkling mineral water, and the popular Touch of Fruit collection. Touch of Fruit combines Volvic water with natural fruit flavours and is available in both low-sugar and sugar-free variants, with less than 27 calories per serving and no artificial sweeteners. Flavours include Lemon & Lime, Watermelon, Summer Fruits, and Strawberry. In spring 2024, Volvic launched Touch of Fruit Sparkling Sugar Free in convenient can format with Strawberry, Mango Passion, and Lemon & Lime flavours—each containing less than five calories per 330ml serving. Volvic is committed to sustainability: 78% of UK deliveries travel by train (seven times lower carbon than trucks), and the plain water bottling site runs on 100% renewable energy. All bottles use recyclable PETE plastic. Volvic is available at UK supermarkets including Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, and Morrisons.
